In
4 days time on Sunday the 16th June all 23 of us Ladies, will head for Heathrow
Airport to depart on our challenging journey of climbing Kilimanjaro. We
are excited, nervous and basically full of different emotions. It has been
a year in the making and we are ready to get going.
We
have been training since July 2012, but this week we are taking it easy. Our
main focus is on packing, squeezing the sleeping bags, jackets, endless amount
of socks and chocolate bars that will keep us going into our regulation 90
Litre bags - seriously. You cannot imagine how many times we have packed,
repacked and repacked again and there are no high heels in those bags!
The
family schedule spreadsheets are all in progress and will be pinned to the
front doors of all our homes as we leave.
Family
and friends will be able to track our progress daily and hopefully get a
glimpse of how the climb is going. We are extremely proud of what we are about
to do for Chai Cancer Care. We thank you for your incredibly generous donations
and the support, we hope we do you proud.
