Last night of comfort!

After checking in at the fantastic Kilimanjaro mountain lodge, some of us crashed out and slept, while others went for a walk around the area.

The place is so lush and green, the locals, most of whom are guides are so friendly.

John are local guide briefed us early evening which was informative but given the fact that most of us were so shattered we starting nodding off at the meeting.

The hotel provided a lovely evening meal and not a drop of wine passed anyone's lips!  Gwyn and saffron laid out the next 6 days for us, with a very honest picture of what was ahead.

We have all yet again re packed, obviously we are overloaded with stuff we don't need! We have a small corner shop between us!

We know that what we are about to do is no 'walk in the park'.

We have to work together as a team, when someone has to stop we all stop, when someone feels sick we all help that person through it. And we know that at some point all of us will feel sick, no one can avoid the altitude that we are about to experience.

There are 4 large groups descending on Kilimanjaro tomorrow morning, ours being the largest. I guess the romantic notion of having the mountain to ourselves, is not going to happen, but that won't take away the excitement we are all feeling, even if a little apprehensive!

We have had our last showers for the next week, the rucksacks are filled to the top and cameras are charged.  A good nights sleep is in order.

So until tomorrow when we start what we set out to achieve nearly a year ago! goodnight!

Team Chai Altitude.

Xxx
